Run Club Details
- Run Club launches April 12 and will take place every Sunday at noon.
- Meeting location: Lumber Capital Athletics. The facility will be open so runners can use the bathroom and safely leave belongings.
- All fitness levels are welcome, including walkers, beginners, stroller runners, and experienced runners.
- To start, everyone will run together in one “train” group, with faster runners leading and a volunteer at the back to make sure no one gets left behind.
- Initial distance will be about 2 miles so beginners feel comfortable.
- As participation grows, the group will split into two distances (about 2 miles and 4 miles).
- Run Club is free and designed to give the community a simple way to get into fitness and meet people.
- Updates and information are available via the Run Club Facebook page and the people can sign up for text updates on this page.
- The club will be run primarily by volunteers, who help open the facility, guide routes, and support new participants.
- The goal is to create a social, welcoming running community, encouraging people to bring friends and stick around to hang out afterward.
