Sorry, not resharing a political post or trying to convert you, but I do hope I can still get your blood pumping today.
Let’s talk about circulation.
Super sexy, I know.
But circulation plays a huge role in regulating our alertness, mood, joint function, immune response and a bunch of other really cool stuff.
Yet people often get caught in a negative spiral where they stop moving…
You feel like junk so you don’t move.
You don’t move so you get more aches & pains.
You have more aches & pains so you feel even more like junk.
As you can see, it’s a very complicated, scientific process.
I hope you hear my sarcasm.
And here’s the thing: I’m not talking about exercise.
Yes, exercise has all the benefits I listed above, but it is also stressful to your body.
Low level aerobic activity (e.g. taking the dog for a walk, playing ball with your son, cleaning your house, doing the laundry) has incredible benefits and keeps you functioning properly while actually reducing stress and joint wear & tear.
There will be days where you take a break from the gym, but there can be no days where you stop being a human.
Want to be healthy well into your latter years?
Find ways to make movement a mandatory part of your daily life.
This is why farmer’s, carpenters, housekeepers, and gardeners live the longest; it’s not an option not to move.
Want to be a stone cold killer in the gym?
Start by taking your dog for a walk.
