The other day Stacey and I were trying to figure out how to create time in our classes that allows members to allocate some focused attention to skills without being redundant for our more advanced athletes.
The solution we came up with was a resource that clearly lays out a progression for each common theme for skill development: jump roping, handstands & inversion work, hanging gymnastics, and Olympic Weightlifting.
This way our floor coach can use their time coaching & cueing athletes rather than spending all their time giving examples, plus it provides an individualized approach for each athlete that they can use inside (& outside) of that class!
